The problem nobody budgets for

Your team doesn't have a productivity problem. It has a plumbing problem.

The ticket is in one app. The spec is in another. The decision was made in a chat thread nobody can find. Every hand-off between tools is a small tax, and the taxes add up.

Projects & work tracking

See the work. Move the work. Know when it's stuck.

Boards for the day-to-day, a timeline for the month, hill charts for the honest "are we still figuring this out?" conversation. Every ticket carries its priority, owner, due date and custom fields, and Tenon quietly flags anything idle for three days.

Brain, the AI assistant

An assistant that has actually read your workspace.

Most "AI for work" tools know nothing about your work. Brain lives inside Tenon, so it can see the projects, tickets and pages you're allowed to see. Ask what's stuck. Ask for a morning briefing. Ask it to draft three tickets from the conversation you just had.

  • Bring your own providerGoogle Gemini, OpenAI, Azure, or a self-hosted model via any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. No key is ever hard-coded.
  • Respects permissionsThe AI reads through the same Row Level Security as people do.
  • Honest by designIf AI isn't configured, features say so, with no canned "insights".

How Brain works

Two ways to run it

Hosted by us, or hosted by you, for one team or a hundred organizations.

Tenon was multi-tenant from the first commit. That's what lets us run Tenon Cloud for thousands of customers, and what lets an agency or IT team run one self-hosted deployment for every client or department, each fully isolated.

Tenon Cloud

Sign up, invite, work. Your own isolated organization on our infrastructure in the EU or US, with backups, upgrades and uptime handled. Free for up to five members; SSO, activity logs and an SLA on Business.

About Tenon Cloud

Self-hosted

The same software on your servers: a static bundle plus your own Supabase project. Host it for your company, or turn one deployment into a platform for unlimited departments and clients, with no per-tenant fees, air-gap optional.

About self-hosting

Isolation by the database

Every table has Row Level Security. Each organization only ever sees its own rows, on Cloud and self-hosted alike, even if application code has a bug. A built-in self-test proves it.

Security details

SSO your IT team will accept

SAML and OIDC identity providers per organization, with a setup drawer that hands you every value your IdP asks for. Plus session revocation and activity logs.

SSO details

Move between them freely

Cloud and self-hosted share one schema. Start on Cloud, move on-prem when compliance asks, or the reverse. No translation layer, no lock-in.

Two minutes on Cloud. An afternoon self-hosted.

Create your workspace

Sign up on Tenon Cloud with email or Google, name your organization, pick EU or US. Self-hosting instead? The install guide takes about an hour.

Invite people

Send invitations by email. Everyone lands in the same workspace with an onboarding tour that explains the four pieces.

Bring the work in, pick an AI

Import Word and PDF documents as pages, create a project, and choose an AI provider in Admin Settings so Brain can start reading, or don't.

For developers

Extend it. Automate it. Prove it works.

A public REST API with API keys, webhooks signed with HMAC-SHA256 that retry with exponential backoff, org-defined custom fields, and edge functions that self-test your email and RLS configuration.

Who it's for

Built for teams of five, and platforms serving five hundred.

Startups & product teams

Start on Cloud today. Boards for sprints, hill charts for the messy middle, docs next to the work, and an API so you can wire it into the rest of your stack.

Agencies & IT platform teams

One self-hosted deployment with an isolated organization per client or department. Their data stays separated by the database; you administer it all from one superadmin panel, with no per-tenant fees.

Regulated & public sector

Self-host for data residency and zero third-party processors, connect your own IdP, and run the AI assistant on a model inside your network.

Questions

Straight answers.

What exactly is Tenon?

Tenon is one web app that replaces the usual four: a project tracker (boards, timelines, tickets), a documents tool (a Notion-style editor and an infinite canvas), a team chat (channels, DMs, standups, polls) and an AI assistant that has read all of it. Use it on Tenon Cloud, hosted by us, or host it yourself, including for many departments or clients on one deployment.

Who is Tenon for?

Teams of five to five thousand who are tired of paying for and switching between Jira, Notion, Slack and a separate AI tool. Most start on Tenon Cloud. Organizations that cannot, or would rather not, put their work in someone else's cloud (agencies with client data, regulated industries, public sector, IT teams standardising internal tooling) run the same software self-hosted.

Cloud or self-hosted: which should I choose?

Cloud if you want to be working in two minutes and don't have a rule about where data lives. Self-hosted if you have data-residency or air-gap requirements, or want to host one deployment for several departments or clients. It is the same product and the same database schema, so you can move between them later.

Where is my data stored on Tenon Cloud?

In the region you choose when you create the workspace: EU or US. Database, file storage and backups all stay in that region. Your organization's rows are isolated from every other customer by Row Level Security in Postgres.

Can other Tenon Cloud customers see my data?

No. Tenon Cloud is multi-tenant, and every table has org-scoped Row Level Security policies. The database refuses to return rows that belong to another organization, regardless of what the application asks for. We run the same RLS self-test on Cloud that self-hosters run on their own deployments.

Can I host Tenon for my departments or my clients?

Yes. That is what the self-hosted Enterprise edition is for. One deployment holds unlimited organizations, each fully isolated by Row Level Security, each able to connect its own SAML or OIDC identity provider. A superadmin role administers them all. Agencies use it for clients; IT teams use it for departments and subsidiaries.
